We want to introduce the idea of intentional rest. Really setting down sometimes, unplugging from your phone or any screen for that matter and being with YOU. Maybe you have a relaxing bath or try a new meditation or just SLEEP. We want to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night and we want that sleep to be restful! What we eat and how we quiet our mind will greatly affect our sleep too.
During this program, really try to tune into your body and listen to it. If there are times it is calling you to just relax and do nothing for an hour, do it! It can be hard for those go-getters, I know, I am so one of them. But when you are truly connected to YOU and what you need, you will actually find other things can move a lot easier in your life. Slow down to speed up. Allow yourself to recharge so you can give every day your best! I can’t stress enough how important it is to unplug every night. Maybe that will require you to put your phone in another room or somewhere you can’t use it while in bed. It is life-changing! I always turn my phone in airplane mode every night so that I can’t be reached and radiation isn’t going all night. Our wifi is set on a timer to turn off at 10 PM and back on at 5 AM for when I wake up.
Your sleep will definitely be more disrupted if you are on your phone or TV right before bed. Create a new ritual where the hour before you sleep is time for you to be with you. Maybe you read a book or meditate or visualize the new life you are creating. Maybe you write or journal about your day or what you are grateful for. The way you start and end your day are so important so make this rest, reconnection and sleep time a top priority!
